WhatsApp turns on End-to-End Encryption by default for its 1 Billion Users!

Posted by Shobhit at 02:12 0 Comments

In other words, this also means that WhatsApp would not be able to comply with any court order that demands access to the content of any conversation happens over its service.
Starting today, you will see a notification on your WhatsApp conversation screen as your messenger becomes end-to-end encrypted, as shown in the screenshot.
"Message you send to this chat and calls are now secured with end-to-end encryption. Tap for more info."
"This is because your messages are secured with a lock, and only the recipient and you have the special key needed to unlock and read them," Whatsapp says.

"All of this happens automatically: no need to turn on settings or set up special secret chats to secure your messages," the company adds.

How to verify if someone is trying to spy on your conversation?

Well,  the latest version of WhatsApp mobile application offers you an option to verify the keys of the other users with whom you are communicating, ensuring prevention from the man-in-the-middle attack.

Whatsapp key verification can be done by scanning a QR code, or by comparing a 60-digit number, under newly introduced "verify security code" option in the WhatsApp.

"WhatsApp users can opt in to a preference which notifies them every time the security code for a contact changes."

LG Home 4.0 Launcher With App Drawer Now Available for LG G5 !

Posted by Shobhit at 05:38 0 Comments

LG was criticised by some for removing the app drawer from its stock launcher in the LG G5 smartphone. However, the company later brought the optional drawer in its UX 5.0 custom UI and even showed it in a video. That version now is available to download as Home 4.0 launcher for the LG G5.
The new LG Home 4.0 launcher for the G5 can be downloaded from the SmartWorld app store. The launcher looks similar to the stock Android Marshmallow launcher, and includes the app drawer with a Holo-style widget tab.
LG at the time of launch of the LG UX 5.0 said the custom UI includes enhanced support for the G5's camera. Users can switch between the standard 78-degree lens to the 135-degree wide angle lens, capture different angles of images at the same moment using both front and rear cameras, set 360-degree panorama shots capture by LG 360 Cam as wallpapers, which move in sync with movements of the G5, and capture shots from both standard and wide angle lens to create a picture-in-a-frame effect. There are a set of camera filters as well.
Some of the other enhancements include an upgraded LG Health app, Smart Doctor app, enhanced world clock, File Manager app, Quick Help app to find answers to any questions about the G5, LG Backup, and accurate fingerprint recognition for better security.
LG says LG UX 5.0 is user-centric and supports easy connection for optimal control of LG Friends, the modules (CAM Plus, Hi-Fi Plus, and 360 CAM) introduced for the LG G5 smartphone. The highlight of the UX is the LG Friends Manager, an application that lets users easily pair different modules of the G5 with the handset. It also lets users easily download and install the required applications from Google Play.

An Android: Short Essay!

Posted by Shobhit at 05:00 0 Comments

World is contracting with the growth of mobile phone technology. As the number of users is increasing day by day, facilities are also increasing. Starting with simple regular handsets which were used just for making phone calls, mobiles have changed our lives and have become part of it. Now they are not used just for making calls but they have innumerable uses and can be used as a Camera , Music player, Tablet PC, T.V. , Web browser etc . And with the new technologies, new software and operating systems are required.

What is Android
Operating Systems have developed a lot in last 15 years. Starting from black and white phones to recent smart phones or mini computers, mobile OS has come far away. Especially for smart phones, Mobile OS has greatly evolved from Palm OS in 1996 to Windows pocket PC in 2000 then to Blackberry OS and Android.

One of the most widely used mobile OS these days is ANDROID. Android is a software bunch comprising not only operating system but also middleware and key applications. Android Inc was founded in Palo Alto of California, U.S. by Andy Rubin, Rich miner, Nick sears and Chris White in 2003. Later Android Inc. was acquired by Google in 2005. After original release there have been number of updates in the original version of Android.

Features & Specifications
Android is a powerful Operating System supporting a large number of applications in Smart Phones. These applications make life more comfortable and advanced for the users. Hardwares that support Android are mainly based on ARM architecture platform. Some of the current features and specifications of android are:

Android comes with an Android market which is an online software store. It was developed by Google. It allows Android users to select, and download applications developed by third party developers and use them. There are around 2.0 lack+ games, application and widgets available on the market for users.

Android applications are written in java programming language. Android is available as open source for developers to develop applications which can be further used for selling in android market. There are around 200000 applications developed for android with over 3 billion+ downloads. Android relies on Linux version 2.6 for core system services such as security, memory management, process management, network stack, and driver model. For software development, Android provides Android SDK (Software development kit). Read more about open source software.

Applications
These are the basics of Android applications:
•      Android applications are composed of one or more application components (activities, services, content providers, and broadcast receivers)
•      Each component performs a different role in the overall application behavior, and each one can be activated individually (even by other applications)
•      The manifest file must declare all components in the application and should also declare all application requirements, such as the minimum version of Android required and any hardware configurations required
•      Non-code application resources (images, strings, layout files, etc.) should include alternatives for different device configurations (such as different strings for different languages)

Google, for software development and application development, had launched two competitions ADC1 and ADC2 for the most innovative applications for Android. It offered prizes of USD 10 million combined in ADC1 and 2. ADC1 was launched in January 2008 and ADC 2 was launched in May 2009. These competitions helped Google a lot in making Android better, more user friendly, advanced and interactive.

Top Ten Best Operating Systems!

Posted by Shobhit at 04:49 0 Comments

Microsoft Windows 7

Windows 7 is the best OS from Microsoft I have ever experienced...
Easy to install... Crash free... Fabulous Graphics Support for HQ Games.. And more...
Windows Vista is the worst OS from Microsoft...
Very simple to install and better UI also best security.
Very good themes.
Less virus detector... And fabulous display... Maximum features And many more
Windows 7 is the only desktop friendly OS left...

Windows 8

This is lovely
This is friendly
This is fastest
This is best
All at once it must be on top
Fastest Microsoft operating system yet. It has more security features and adds an extra twist and extra compatibility to Windows.
Windows 8 make it better than the previous versions of windows 0S and others are its modern and new features. Seems like windows give it a new taste and experience with user's perspective. More secure, reliable and tangible as well with its metro and touch interface. With its beta releases, the DP, CP and RP, grabs good comments. However, desktop users says this OS a no-no for desktop, instead tablet or other touch integrated pcs. For me, I like it way better for easy navigation of settings. Hope windows make this os compatible with older pcs. Cause some reports say that it will just successfully install with later pcs.
Sorry, but this is the worst windows of all of them. Has random errors for no reason a lot. Doesn't let you buy good apps. Every time I play a free flash game, it would have the Blue screen of death.

Ubuntu

Ubuntu is a mixture of Windows and Macintosh. Looks like mac but shortcut keys is similar to windows. Great work. I love it
They should sell computers with Ubuntu pre-installed!
I really like the OS, but the thing that so bad is that it uses java iced tea and not java sun
But much better than windows Vista
It really rock me. Windows os gets nothing. Haha sorry to all windows users
Good for all work

Windows 8.1

It is just awesome. It has the start button back, you can boot to the desktop, the start screen can be personalized in more ways with more tile sizes, group naming, more apps and more. The store has apps and a better look. Has a more "metro" control panel and more. IT IS GOT TO BE THE BEST OS FROM MICROSOFT
A great replacement for those who hate windows 8. It is sure to be a success as it has been seen in the past!, Its preview ain't that much but what is instore is awesome!
It's cool! Microsoft included a new way of personalizing, customizing and searching!.. It's free on the web!.. Try download it, and experience the "SMARTEST" version of OS that Microsoft have ever created!.. ;-)
I love it! So stable and fast! So much personalizing, its great!

Windows XP Professional

This is all time favorite.. None other than Windows XP
Why though. It's from the early 2000's and was very virus prone, and quite low performance.
Hey it's Really good because it is easy to learn & install & also it fast than other OS
Best hacker-friendly operating system out there. You may say windows 7 is better, but it is that windows 7 is a mix of XP and vista together. So after all, windows XP is best OS, windows related.
Xp was about the best I have seen, since DOS 3.0

Linux Mint

Fast and secure, it has everything I want and everything anyone should really need. If you can't find it in mint, it probably doesn't exist.
Mint is a easy to use operating system based on linux, reliable and great for new users. Based on ubuntu, there is a lot of software available on it
Mint is faster than windows and it is secured by package system
Simply the best Linux OS, stable, soft, gentle, intuitive, nice, kind and beautiful

Macintosh OSX
By far one of the easiest operating systems to learn for a complete beginner (although switching from windows has a slight learning curve). Ideal for the artist and everyday user, the Mac OS is a personal favourite. The fact that it's unix based makes it quite similar to linux with very similar terminal commands. The only downside to Mac OS is the small range of games and the high price of the Macintosh computer required to run Mac OS X
Unfair to classify OSX as a single stand-alone OS and compare it to Windows as a long list of very different systems from 3.1 to whatever they're doing this week. OSX is a variant of Unix based on FreeBSD which is in turn based on BSD that predates MSDOS by a decade (~) by my recollection. Microsoft should join the rest of the world and help create a unified OS core such that each variant merely offers their own "flavoured" shell. Windows was nothing but a menu system for MSDOS. A Unified system would solve many of the problems of writing code for all computers to use.
Yea the whole reason why macs never get viruses is because hackers don't see any profit in hacking a mac, even though macs arc is 64bit or higher currently pc's hold the market shares in the US, thus being hackers will see profit in hacking a pc and get more enjoyment out of it rather than trying to waste time on a mac, and wit a pc you can do a hell of a lot more than just a mac where you can only do graphic arts, music design, and so forth, and not even good enough to run games on it, oh yea another thing bout macs is that the os is pretty much locked and simplyfied where there's rly no probs with the mac osx and if there ever is any probs that the user experiences they always run to the apple store because they don't know squat on how to resolve the issue, when pc users can fix issues on their own and not have to run to the apple store for help. So yea I think the numerical order of os'es should remain the same currently.
Overall the best system for gaming and editing.

Android

What about Chrome OS?
Not the same as android
In a year it will be the number 3 OS
Yeah but chrome does seem to be the most used web browser in the world
Android 4.1 is a fairly stale operating system with great customization options. Fun withgets will light your way into a a very interesting society, where you control everything. I would recommend this operating system in a heartbeat!
Android is definitely the best operating system because it is an upcoming fairly new OS that is very simple and is very safe in the way of virus protection and speed.
Still good though

Windows XP

The best operating system I have ever used, thanks to Microsoft,
It is best fastest operating system ever. It's better than windows 8
This is the best for me ever seen...
Easily the best OS ever, anyone with knowledge knows this beats any other OS. Other systems are just considered good because they're new.

Fedora

The greatest! Does not crash. FREE. All services built in - web server (apache, php sql), dns server... Etc... - eddie
Fedora is definitively the best operating system out there. All software is out of the box, and with boxes, you can install multiple operating system into fedora. There is no reason to not use fedora over anything else.
Best OS and Free of Cost. Much more uptime compared to windows. Timely Updates, proper use, no crash and Boxes help to build VM under Fedora
Have been running Fedora since version 2, now running version 23 and can install and update anything (including the kernel) on-the-fly with no downtime or reboots. It just keeps running and running and running.

The Newcomers

iOS 9
IOS has quite a few apps, although on most iOS devices it is very slow and is not a replacement for a real desktop operating system.
Fairly decent, took an hour to upgrade

The Contenders

Windows Vista

I have Vista with Service Pack 2 and it is an awesome OS. May have sucked back in its infancy but is now an awesome, reliable, and stable OS with Service Pack 2. Just as good if not better than Windows 7 in my opinion.
Those who had trouble with Vista were trying to use it on inadequate hardware. I have been using Vista since its inception. It is stable and fast. Unfortunately many software vendors are neglecting Vista when making upgrades. I have used every version of Windows beginning with Windows 2.0. I have Windows 7 on my notebook but prefer Vista. Windows 8 (all versions) sucks. How can they call it Windows when the applications all run full screen?
Vista 64 is my first and only positive experience with a Microsoft OS. The week it released (Jan '07) I purchased the retail box version 64 bit home premium. OS installed in 15 minutes and had perfectly working 64 bit drivers for every piece of hardware in the system without update or need of component-included driver/install software to operate at full capacity updated to proper drivers shortly after.I didn't have the problem that most complained about. I suspect not enough consumers understood the difference between 32 and 64 bit processing / hardware and its ramifications. My Vista system has been in daily use for the past 8 years without a single software crash. I really don't understand why Vista is generally thought of so poorly.I don't know if I trust this survey considering 2 different versions of Windows XP are on the list bloated, unstable, patch-happy, and slow. I haven't seen a BSOD in a decade, can any XP user claim that?
Great operating system

Mac OS X Leopard

Awesome very simple and reliable better than windows
I like it ver
Very easy to use and it even supports adobe flash which is very nice this is the best one yet!
Mac OS X Leopard is a MAJOR leap for Apple. It's very good! The only problem I have with it is that Apple doesn't support it anymore; so I updated to Mac OS X Snow Leopard. It's almost just like Mac OS X Leopard and best of all, it's not obsolete!
That is great

Windows 10

It's fast, It's reliable, It takes full responsibility of every move you do. It is the Windows of the future, It is worth every penny you've spent to buy this because of its features, Design, Speed, Accuracy, Privacy, and Security. If you even hesitated to buy Windows 7, Just buy this OS, Who knows, Maybe in the future some programs you need are only compatible with windows 10.
The future coming OS! There are lots of great features in Windows 10! Some of the great features are combined old start menu + new metro apps, tablet mode, continuum, Cortana, Microsoft Edge, notification center, multitasking desktop and many more... And there are coming developing technologies which will work with Windows 10 like Microsoft Surface, HoloLens. The best thing is the same OS will work on all platforms whether it is phone, tablet, Xbox, laptop or desktop! All data will be syncing.. Transferable data across all platforms! The future is here!
Windows 10 is great. Don't mind the start menu, love Cortana (opening the weather verbally while doing something else is really handy), Xbox app seems pretty cool. The fact that it's designed to work with normal pc's and tablets/smartphones as well as hybrids makes it very appealing. User interface for Windows Defender is quite improved. Love the task view. The software that's easily available in the Windows Store is really useful. Only downside is that any software installed from the Windows Store is hard to find and access on your computer and ends up scrambled into several folders. Thanks Microsoft. But that aside, Windows 10 is still easier to navigate than Mac OS X and Windows 8, has better access to files than in Android, and is faster, more flexible and more capable than Windows XP and the Home and Enterprise editions of Windows 7. Overall, it's the best OS I've ever used.
Because its awesome

Windows 98

It is the operating system that brought revolution.. Introduced cursor, graphics and the gaming system.. It is without a doubt the best operating system there is.. So my vote goes to windows 98
Windows 98 is epic because it is fast. It's faster than my laptop running Windows 7. It runs Office Word well, and it can run many powerful and great games.
Windows 98 is a faster operating system created by Microsoft and is the successor to windows 95. Windows 95 might be faster than windows 98 because it was loading faster and it was more reliable. My vote goes to windows 98.
Best OS ever by it's time, now its Windows 7

Google Chrome OS

Love my Chromebook and it's super fast bootup along with light weight portability. Security like no other OS on the Planet too!
Boots in 7 seconds. Incredibly stable. Lowest cost speed and power. No need for virus-ware. Never lose stuff -- it's in the cloud. Software updates don't require user to download/install. Device performance doesn't degrade over time. Google Cloud Print eliminates the need to download/install printer drivers and works from any device. Great support for Google Remote Desktop and Chromecast. No Windows registry.
Fast booting, easy using, auto updating, cloud storing. I love it!
Its amazing! Better than any other OS I have ever used!

Mac OS X Lion

Most stable, powerful, and intuitive interface in the world. Smartest computer, easiest to use, and just the best around. Nothing beats good ol' Apple! - musicamentek
Unlike windows it just works, is relabel and easy to use. Also unlike common belief it can run most popular games such as most of the Call of Dutys. It can do this better than windows only because its apple!
It's the best OS I've ever used
Tried ubuntu, red hat and all versions from Microsoft
My dream os
Mac OS X Mountain Lion

More stable, more reliable than XP, and fun too. So far the best system I have tried. I liked Snow Leopard but this is a definite upgrade. Using Mountain lion with Parallels for Windows applications is smooth as silk.
It's pretty good OS. I'm using it and I don't have any problems
I tried all of the top ten right now and mountain lion is the best, there is this bootcamp feature and you can install any operating system that you want, but you must make a second mac you can do that using disk utility. (if you want mac and the other OS
Although I like OS X Mavericks better it was a great leap from lion which was definitely necessary or OS X Mavericks wouldn't be here.

Elementary OS

Elementary OS is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu (which is in turn based on Debian). It makes use of a desktop with its own shell named Pantheon, and is deeply integrated with other elementary OS applications like Plank (a dock based on Docky), Midori (the default web browser) and Scratch (a simple text editor). This distribution uses Gala as its window manager, which is based on Mutter.
Elementary is a great OS, very nice to look at and so easy to use. My wife has had it on her laptop for more than a year, it has never crashed, never locks up it "just works" and of course it is free as in beer and speech.

And of course as it's Linux and based on Ubuntu it has many thousands of free applications to do any thing your ever likely to want to do on a computer.
Well, one of the most underrated operating system on this planet. I've used all the major os like win 7,8, ubuntu, linux mint etc. but this is the only os which made me feel happy to use. AMAZING UI and graphics. Everything in this os is just so... Perfect. LOVE THIS OPERATING SYSTEM. AMAZING work by the developers.
It has the most beautiful user interface

Windows 95

Hell yes, what happened to the original windows? The start menu was the best invention ever by Microsoft and they took it away in windows 8, I mean I'm a computer tech and ill be doing something in windows 8 and hit some random key that brings up that dumb ass tile crap. I Despise windows 8, almost as much as I hate Vista and Windows Millennium Edition
The first ever operating system in the Windows series to introduce a simple but very useful and working component called the Start Menu of the Windows operating system, now ridden of and put into damnation by Windows 8...
Win 95 Plus version was so cool. By far, simplest and most crash resistant OS for me... (or maybe I learnt too much after that! )
I agree, Windows 95 was the best..

openSUSE

Very stable linux. Works perfectly. Never fails. MADE IN Germany
Super Stable, Everything under the sun always works perfectly and it is FREE! So you can not beat that, plus no Virus or Malware in the last almost 20 years I have used it. It is superior to any FREE or paid for OS I know and can be customized and never slows down.
Very stable linux. Works perfectly.
